Thanks for your message!
We will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible.
The information in this post has been provided by the Dorset Cricket league.
Emails on the Dorset Cricket League team entries may have been sent to more than one person within a club, so please co-ordinate and decide who should make the team entries for 2025.
Team entries for both the Dorset Cricket League (Saturdays) and all of the Dorset Women's Competitions MUST be received by midnight on October 31st 2024.
Please read these notes carefully before someone submits the entries on behalf of your club:
Saturday League - Entry fee £40 per team.
As previously announced, there was no promotion or relegation between Premier One and Premier Two, or between Premier Two and County Division One after the 2024 season. There is promotion and relegation throughout the County Divisions though, but please keep in mind that the actual make-up of each division may also change based on teams dropping out, new teams coming in, or even decisions made by the management committee in exceptional circumstances.
There may also be changes to the lowest divisions after voting at the AGM. This may or may not keep the regional divisions 6 west and east. There may even be a 'development' division in which teams must have a minimum number of 'junior' players and/or women for every game. Please see the document below for further details. We are therefore willing to accept 'conditional' entries from clubs at this stage for one, or possible two, of their teams.
There is no charge at this stage for the 'conditional' entries, with payment only being due if the condition your club hopes for is subsequently met and the entry then confirmed following the AGM.
Payment for ALL entries, other than conditional entries, MUST be made by November 14th, otherwise the entries may be cancelled.
Women's Competitions - Entry fee £10 per team, except for 100 Cup for which there is no charge.
Following the '2024 season review' forum and a recent women's sub-committee meeting, the following competitions are now on offer for 2025. Please read these headline notes and the 'rules' for each of the competitions, showing significant changes from this season in red font, before deciding which competitions to enter.
Women's T20 Hardball League - aimed at clubs which can field a team of experienced players, including county/talent pathway players, looking to play the highest possible standard of women's club cricket. Clubs will also be allocated 'sister clubs' which have not entered their own team in this league, but have players who wish to play at this standard. Players from the allocated 'sister clubs' will then be able to dual-register with their allocated T20 club.
Women's Super 8s Hardball Pairs - aimed at clubs with players wanting to play hardball, but with less experience of doing so. A transition from softball to hardball. Rules similar to previous years, with a few tweaks. Restrictions on number of county/talent pathway players per team per match.
NB. Clubs cannot enter both of these hardball competitions. Individual players from clubs entering the Super 8s will be able to play in the T20 league for their 'sister club'.
Division One Softball League (for the Port Regis trophy) - aimed at clubs fielding a team with a majority of experienced softball players.
Division Two Softball League (for the Clive Moore trophy) - aimed at clubs fielding a team with a majority of new, less experienced, players. There will be specific requirements that more experienced players playing in this league will be expected to help those with less experience and not to dominate the game.
NB. The most experienced players whose clubs have to enter softball competitions only, because the majority of their players are new, less experienced, will still be able to 'dual register' with their 'sister club' to be able to play in the T20 Hardball League.
Women's 100 Softball Cup Competition - A knock-out competition, open only to clubs which have entered one or both of the softball leagues.
The women's sub-committee will endeavour to give each team a minimum of 6 fixtures in each of their chosen league competitions. Whether these are countywide or regional will depend upon the number of entries.
We aim to publish a fixture list for all competitions during December. Clubs will then have until March 31st 2025 to re-schedule any of the women's competitions fixtures IF both clubs involved can agree on the date. Fixture dates will then be set and no further rescheduling will be allowed, other than for 100 cup matches that can't be played on the set date due to weather.
Please find below an pdf copy of the team entry form itself so that whoever gets delegated to submit it for your club can see all the questions in advance, rather than just those on the first page.
Having read the above information and, if applicable the 'rules' for each of the women's competitions, as well as agreeing who will complete the entry form for your club, now direct that person to the link below in order to submit your team entries:
Once submitted, payment for ALL entries, other than 'conditional' ones, MUST be made before November 14th. Please see the payment instructions on the entry form itself.
