Dorset Metro Bank ECB Core Coach Course - Expression of Interest

The ECB have awarded Dorset the chance to run a Metro Bank ECB Core Coach in 2025, to support clubs with a girls section or that are starting a girls section in 2025. With the new Dorset Premier League criteria of clubs requiring to have a girls section running by 2026, this will help to support clubs with their girls section activities.

Metro Bank ECB Core Coach Course Information

The Metro Bank ECB Core Coach is ONLY available to coaches / potential coaches that are at a club with a girls section or are starting a girls section in 2025, and it is the same as the normal ECB Core Coach except for some small changes that are detailed below:

  • maximum of 12 candidates on the course
  • course price is £250 rather than the normal £300 (coach development bursaries can still be applied to this course and if you need more information on these then please use the link https://dorset-cricket.co.uk/recreationalCricket?tp=440a5352-4fa6-4ed3-bfa5-f6bd2d49d1c7)
  • places are offered by invite only rather than an open registration process
  • a minimum of 2 weeks is provided between each delivery day
  • practical assessments take place in the candidates club environment rather than in the last module on the course

Dorset are running the Metro Bank ECB Core Coach at Lytchett Manor Sports Centre, BH16 6JD, on the following dates and all days would need to be attended:

Day 1 - Sat 15th March 2025 10am to 5pm

Day 2 - Sat 29th March 2025 10am to 5pm

Day 3 - Sun 13th April 2025 10am to 5pm

Day 4 - Sun 27th April 2025 10am to 1pm

Once the ECB Core Coach qualification has been gained by the person then they are qualified to lead cricket coaching sessions. The minimum age to gain the qualification is 18 years old, so the minimum age of anyone offered a place on this course is 17 years old at the start of the course (15th March 2024).

Expression of Interest Information

Dorset are asking clubs that fit the girls section eligibility criteria to identify coaches to attend this course and to complete the Expression of Interest form via the link below by Sunday 16th February at 11.45pm.

Dorset will then review the expressions of interests the week commencing the 17th Feb, and if more than 12 are received we will offer places on the course on a clubs needs basis. The coaches will then be contacted with the offer of a place on the course and provided a link to register and pay for the course.

This form provides the clubs with the opportunity to express an interest of up to 4 coaches / potential coaches.

Please can clubs ensure that the coach(es) they are putting forward to be reviewed in the expression of interest form are available to attend the course dates detailed above and have your permission to provide their details in this form.

Please ensure that all email addresses are entered correctly as individual automatic emails are sent by the system to the person completing this form as well as all coaches being put forward.

The expression of interest form can not be saved to come back to to complete, so the form needs to be completed in one go.

The information required to complete the form are:

  • Cricket Club information
  • Person completing the form contact details
  • Contact details and date of birth of the coach(es) wanting to attend the course
